Membership for the 2013-2014 school year has now officially opened!
Please print the application located at the bottom of the page (or stop by room 265)
if you would like to be considered for membership.
Applications are due no later than September 19th, 2013.

Our induction ceremony will be Thursday morning at 8:45, October 3rd.
See Mrs. Kurtz for meeting schedule and community service requirements.

Remember to remain in good standing you must be coming to all the meetings.
If you miss two meetings without prior approval, you will be dismissed from the society. If you fail to maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.0 you will be placed on probation. If after one semester you are not able to bring up your GPA, you will be dismissed.

The Creekside #3177 Chapter of the National ART Honor Society grew to 93 members for the 2011-2012 school year. Considering that was only our 3rd year in existence at Creekside, that is amazing! Your hard work and dedication to your academics and love for art has paid off. Continue to strive for excellence in all that you do in life. I am very proud of each and every one of you!


What is NAHS all about?
The Creekside chapter of the National Art Honor Society is……………………

NAHS is designed specifically for high school students. In 1978, the National Art Education Association (NAEA) began the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) program specifically for high school students, for the purpose of inspiring and recognizing those students who have shown an outstanding ability in art. The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community.

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:
Section 1. Membership in this chapter shall be based upon art
Scholarship, service, and character.
Section 2. To be eligible for selection to membership in this chapter, the
Candidate must have been in attendance for a period equivalent to one
semester in art in this school.
Section 3. Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be senior
High school students in grades 10-12, and shall have a minimum average
of B. This level of achievement shall remain fixed.
Section 4. Members may remain active during such time when there is no
art on their class schedule.

Entrance into NAHS is now open for the 2012-2013 school year. If you would like to be considered for membership next year, please print the application below and return to Mrs. Kurtz in artroom #265. Applications are due no later that October 5, 2012.

If you think you would like to be considered for membership please fill out an application form and have two of your former or current teachers recommend you for membership. Upon verification of your un-weighted GPA (min. 3.0) and teacher recommendation you will be notified of acceptance. The induction ceremony will be held in early October.
