The program offers three levels of scholarship awards \u2013 the Florida Academic Scholars award (FAS), the Florida Medallion Scholars award (FMS), and the Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars award (GSV).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Student Responsibilities:<\/strong> It is the student\u2019s responsibility to know and meet the requirements of the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program before high school graduation and throughout your college career. To learn more about these requirements go to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong><span style=\"color: #000000\">The 25-26 Florida Bright Futures Handbook can be found<\/span> <a style=\"color: #0000ff\" href=\"https:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\/SAPBFMAIN\/SAPBFMAIN\">here<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Class of 2026 seniors can begin to apply for Florida Bright Futures Scholarship beginning October 01, 2025.<\/strong> To apply for a Bright Futures Scholarship, students must submit a completed, error free<em><strong> Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA)<\/strong><\/em> during your last year in high school (after October 1 and prior to August 31st after high school graduation).<strong> You must apply during your last year in high school, or you will forfeit all future eligibility for a Bright Futures Scholarship.<\/strong> To apply online, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FloridaStudentFinancialAidSG.org<\/a> , select \u201cCreate a Student Account&#8221; under &#8220;First-Time Applicants&#8221;.\u00a0 The application gives the Florida Department of Education (FLDOE) permission to evaluate your high school transcript and test scores for eligibility for state scholarships and grants, including a Bright Futures Scholarship. You may apply prior to meeting all requirements.<\/p>\n<p>After submitting the <em><strong>FFAA<\/strong><\/em>, the student is responsible for tracking application and award status online and keeping the Office of Student Financial Assistance (OSFA) informed of any demographic or institutional changes.\u00a0 CHS School Counseling Department will automatically submit all student transcripts containing high school course credits and volunteer service\/paid work hours. Students must earn either the required volunteer service and\/or paid work hours. Please note, student SAT\/ACT test scores will be evaluated based on official test scores from the FDOE repository. To ensure OSFA obtains official test scores:<\/p>\n<p>o Ensure demographics on your test registration and high school transcript match; and<br \/>\no <strong>Request your official SAT\/ACT test scores be sent to one of Florida\u2019s State Colleges.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><b>For the most up to date information regarding Bright Futures use this<a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\/sapbfmain\/sapbfmain\"> link<\/a>.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><strong>The cumulative unweighted GPA on the report card may include courses not calculated in the Bright Futures Scholarship program GPA.
