It offers students the opportunity to experience a college readiness exam and helps identify those who may benefit from advanced coursework. The PSAT mirrors the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/satsuite.collegeboard.org\/sat\"><strong>SAT<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in structure, timing, and content, providing excellent practice while evaluating essential skills in Reading, Writing, and Math\u2014key areas for success in college and beyond.\u00a0 Your student will also receive personalized feedback on their skills to help improve before taking the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/satsuite.collegeboard.org\/sat\"><strong>SAT<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 For\u00a0<strong>Juniors<\/strong>, the PSAT\/NMSQT serves as the\u00a0<strong>qualifying exam for the National Merit Scholarship Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sophomores<\/strong>\u00a0will receive the PSAT at\u00a0<strong>no cost<\/strong>, as the state fully funds it. There is\u00a0<strong>no need for 10th-grade students to register<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Freshmen and Juniors<\/strong>\u00a0must\u00a0<strong>register and pay a $22 testing fee<\/strong>. Registration must be completed online using the\u00a0<strong>SchoolPay links provided below<\/strong>, no later than\u00a0<strong>midnight on Monday, September 14, 2025*<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>*<\/strong>Please note that this deadline is firm, and due to the College Board\u2019s enforced policies regarding payment and registration for computer-based testing across all St. Johns County School District high schools,\u00a0<strong>no exceptions to this due date can be made.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>SchoolPay Registration Links:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>9th Grade Registration &#8211; <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolpay.com\/pay\/for\/PSAT-2026-Registration-9thGrade-ONLY\/SAEImX\">PSAT 2026 Registration 9th-Grade ONLY<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<li>11th Grade Registration &#8211;\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolpay.com\/pay\/for\/PSAT-2026-Registration-11thGrade-ONLY\/SAj8cU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PSAT 2026 Registration 11th-Grade ONLY<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students can download the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/satsuite.collegeboard.org\/media\/pdf\/psat-nmsqt-student-guide.pdf\"><strong>Official Student Guide to the PSAT\/NMSQT\u00ae<\/strong><\/a> online for convenient access anytime, anywhere.\u00a0 This guide is designed to help students understand the structure and content of the PSAT\/NMSQT, offering valuable insights into test-taking strategies and expectations. It includes detailed test information, a full-length practice test, and answer keys for self-assessment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Accommodations:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If your student has a documented disability, they may be eligible for testing accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams through the College Board. Please note:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>An IEP or 504 Plan does not guarantee\u00a0<\/strong><strong>approval\u00a0<\/strong>of\u00a0accommodations for College Board exams. All decisions are made solely by the College Board.<\/li>\n<li>To request accommodations, the College Board\u2019s\u00a0<strong>Consent Form for Accommodations\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Request\u00a0<\/strong>must\u00a0be signed by both the student and parent\/guardian and submitted to the student\u2019s school counselor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To request accommodations, a completed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/accommodations.collegeboard.org\/request-accommodations\/request\/forms\"><strong>Consent Form for Accommodations Request<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0must be submitted to your student\u2019s school counselor by\u00a0<strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Friday,\u00a0August 21, 2026<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 Once we receive the form, we will begin the application process. For additional information about accommodations for the PSAT, SAT, and AP Exams, please visit\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collegeboard.com\/ssd\"><strong>Accommodations on College Board Exams<\/strong><\/a> or contact the College Board directly at 212-713-8333.<\/p>\n<p>\u2705\u00a0<strong>Once approved, always active:<\/strong>\u00a0If your student has received accommodations through the College Board, there\u2019s no need to reapply for each individual exam.
