The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationally recognized organization that honors high school students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, and character. Membership in NHS is one of the highest honors a student can achieve and provides opportunities to develop leadership skills, participate in service projects, and be recognized for academic achievement.  https://www.nationalhonorsociety.org

Eligibility at a Glance

Students in the sophomore or junior class may apply to join in the spring semester if they meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum GPA: 3.75 Weighted GPA
  • Service Requirement: At least 30 documented service hours documented in HAC (non-paid)
  • Discipline: Level III or Level IV discipline infractions (grounds for non-selection)

Applicants are also evaluated on the four pillars of the NHS: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

NHS meetings are held on Tuesdays each month.
